DESCRIPTION:  This creates a ROMPaq firmware upgrade diskette to 
upgrade the System ROM in the above-mentioned Deskpro 2000 models 
(586c ROM Family) to the 11/25/96 version.  The ROM Family and ROM 
date can be determined by running F10 Setup.  

Enhancements in this version:
- Supports REBA AMD K5 
- Supports 85Hz video from the 1.10e Cirrus Logic VGA ROM 
- Supports Erase Eaze keyboard programming 

Fixes in this version:
- Fixes PCI and Plug and Play issues
- Fixes an L2 cache coherency problem when invalidating L2 tags
- Fixes an issue with a Toshiba CD-ROM drive connected to a 
  secondary controller 
- Fixes a Western Digital hard drive issue

HOW TO USE:

1.  Obtain a formatted 1.44-MB diskette.

2.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and 
change to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is 
SP2909.EXE.

3.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:
    SP2909 [ENTER]
You will be prompted to place the formatted 1.44-MB diskette into 
a diskette drive to create the diskette.

4.  After the diskette is created, you may delete the downloaded 
file SP2909.EXE if you wish.

5.  Keeping the newly created diskette in the A: drive, cycle 
system power to boot from the ROMPaq diskette.

6.  Follow the on-screen instructions to select the 11/25/96 
Compaq System ROM and upgrade the firmware.
