DESCRIPTION:  This creates a ROMPaq firmware upgrade diskette to 
upgrade the System ROM in the above-mentioned Deskpro 2000 Pentium 
Pro models (586c2 ROM Family) to the 01/27/97 version.  The ROM 
Family and ROM date can be determined by running F10 Setup.  

Enhancements in this version:
- Adds support for:
  - Year 2000 
  - Higher Extended Memory boundary
    - Extended Memory Size from 16 MB to 64 MB reported
      in CMOS bytes 30 and 31
  - IDE PDCD Drive
  - PCI passive release and delayed transactions
  - DMA for IDE devices
  - Microcode patch for B1 step PentiumPro processors

Fixes in this version: 
- Fixes unexpected soft reset for Western Digital drive
- Fix for Plug and Play devices that do not power up 
  and legacy I/O ports on Plug and Play video adapters

HOW TO USE:

1.  Obtain a formatted 1.44 MB diskette.

2.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and 
change to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is 
SP2907.EXE.

3.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:
    SP2907 [ENTER]
You will be prompted to place the formatted 1.44 MB diskette into 
a diskette drive to create the diskette.

4.  After the diskette is created, you may delete the downloaded 
file SP2907.EXE if you wish.

5.  Keeping the newly created diskette in the A: drive, cycle 
system power to boot from the ROMPaq diskette.

6.  Follow the on-screen instructions to select the 01/27/97 
Compaq System ROM and flash the firmware.
