DESCRIPTION: Creates the 2-diskette set for the Compaq Array
Configuration Utility for Microsoft Windows and Windows NT, which is
for Compaq SMART-2 Array Controllers. Version 1.02 rev C includes
support for Online Recovery Server controllers as well as
fixes and enhancements.
The Array Configuration utility is installed on the System
Partition for those systems which support it and have hard drives.
It is shipped as diskette(s) on all other products.

HOW TO USE:

1. Obtain two formatted 1.44 MB diskettes.

2. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and
change to that directory. The file that is downloaded is
SP2887.EXE.

3. From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:
  SP2887 [ENTER]
You will be prompted to place the formatted 1.44 MB diskettes into
a diskette drive to create the diskettes.

4. After the diskettes are created, you may delete the downloaded
file SP2887.EXE if you wish.

HOW TO UPGRADE THE SYSTEM PARTITION:

If the Array Configuration Utility (ACU) is installed on the
System Partition, boot to the System Partition and navigate
through the menus and select the Upgrade System Partition choice.
Place an X next to the Array Configuration Utility and press
ENTER. You will be prompted to insert both diskettes and after the
files have been copied; you can run the ACU from the System
Partition.

NOTE: This requires a 32MB System Partition which can only be
created on a hard disk with 32MB of unused space at the beginning
of the drive. Use the Compaq System Configuration Utility Version
2.30 or later to create a 32MB System Partition. Search for the
latest version of the Compaq System Configuration Utility as a
downloadable Diagnostics/Setup Softpaq (e.g., Ver 2.33 Rev A is
available in Softpaq SP2651).

HOW TO UPGRADE THE WINDOWS NT VERSION:

If the Array Configuration Utility is installed online on a
Windows NT server, follow the directions in the Windows NT Support
Software Diskette's README.TXT file to perform the upgrade.
Search for the latest version of the Windows NT Support Software
Diskette as a downloadable Softpaq from Compaq (e.g., Compaq
Support Software for Windows NT 3.51 and 4.0 is available in
Softpaq SP2741).

HOW TO RUN THE OFFLINE VERSION:

If the ACU is not installed on the System Partition or on an NT
server, power down your computer, place the Compaq System
Configuration Utility diskette number 1 in Drive A:, and power up
your computer.
