DESCRIPTION:  Creates the executable PARLLDMA.EXE, which allows a user 
to enable or disable DMA on the parallel port of the above-mentioned 
computers.  When this program is executed without parameters at the DOS 
command prompt, it first reports whether it is able to run on the 
current computer.   If it is, it reports whether the parallel port DMA 
is enabled or disabled.  It can then be run with parameters to enable or 
disable DMA, either from the command line or from the AUTOEXEC.BAT file. 

HOW TO USE:

1.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to 
that directory.  The file that is downloaded is SP2688.EXE.

2.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:
SP2688 [ENTER]
The following files should be created:
PARLLDMA.EXE
PARLLDMA.DOC

3.  After the files are created, you may delete the downloaded file 
SP2688.EXE if you wish.

4.  To determine compatibility with your computer, from the download 
directory type:  PARLLDMA [Enter]

The following syntax may be used either at the command prompt or 
anywhere in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file:

C:\path\PARLLDMA /x

where x = e for enable DMA
      x = d for disable DMA

For example, to disable parallel port DMA, enter:
C:\softpaqs\PARLLDMA /d
