DESCRIPTION: This creates a diskette for upgrading the ROM on a 
Compaq 288 Data Fax Modem, Series 571, to firmware version V1.600 - 029. 
The modem is a PCMCIA Type II PC Card designed for use in Europe.  This 
upgrade increases its maximum speed to 33.6 Kbps.  This SoftPaq also 
contains the associated CPQ-EMEA.INF modem script file for Windows 95. 

HOW TO USE:

1.  Obtain a formatted 1.44 MB diskette.

2.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and
    change to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is 
    SP2467.EXE.

3.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file by entering
    SP2467 from a DOS prompt, or double clicking on the SP2467 icon in
    the folder for that directory.  You will be prompted to place the
    formatted 1.44 MB diskette into a diskette drive to create the
    modem ROM upgrade diskette.  The diskette will contain the following
    files:
       FLASH.EXE
       CPQ_029.P37
       README.TXT
       CPQ-EMEA.INF
       SP2467.DOC

4.  After the diskette is created, you may delete the downloaded file
    SP2467.EXE if you wish.

5.  To upgrade the modem ROM, refer to README.TXT on the diskette.
