DESCRIPTION:  This creates the ROMPaq Firmware Upgrade Diskette for the 
Compaq Deskpro to upgrade the System ROM on Deskpro 4000/6000 models 
with a 686G6 Family ROM to the 09/16/96 version.  The ROM Family and ROM 
date can be determined by running F10 Setup.  This version fixes SCSI 
drive fault prediction (IntelliSafe SMART) to work on IBM hard disk 
drives.

HOW TO USE:

1.  Obtain a formatted 1.44 MB diskette.

2.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to 
that directory.  The file that is downloaded is SP2426.EXE.

3.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:
    SP2426 [ENTER]
You will be prompted to place the formatted 1.44 MB diskette into a 
diskette drive to create the diskette.

4.  After the diskette is created, you may delete the downloaded file 
SP2426.EXE if you wish.

5.  Keeping the newly created diskette in the A: drive, cycle system 
power to boot from the ROMPaq diskette.

6.  Follow the on-screen instructions to select the 09/16/96 Compaq 
System ROM and flash the firmware.
