DESCRIPTION:  
The Compaq Survey Utility is an online agent that captures critical hardware 
and operating system configuration information on Compaq servers without 
interrupting server operation.  It automates a configuration history log, 
allowing administrators to identify and compare configuration changes.

Changes in Version 1.03:
- Adds support for Windows NT 4.0
- Active process information is not captured under Windows NT
- Adds support for new products
- Adds physical drive information on SCSI interfaces and on array 
  controllers  (This feature is implemented in the NT version only.)
  Physical drive info already exists in NetWare Survey for SCSI 
  interfaces, and will be added in a coming release of NetWare 
  Survey for array controllers.)
- Adds some logical drive information for SCSI, IDE and Array
  controllers; includes information about Windows NT mirroring, etc.
  (This feature is implemented in the Windows NT version only for 1.03.)
- Adds display of version numbers of software on the System Partition
  (System Config, Diags, ROMPAQ, Drive Array Advanced Diagnostics, etc.)
- Adds display of information on the configuration of Online Recovery 
  Server and Standby Recovery Server
- Adds display of the value of the BOOT OS Compaq Environment Variable
- Captures information necessary to determine installed memory 
  modules/SIMMs for systems that do not have memory records in the 
  System
  Information Table (SIT)
- Fixes shared IRQ table to include all shared IRQs
- Associates EISA and PCI data better (figured out the slot number) when 
  possible
- Fixes the display of Automatic Server Recovery boot selection
- Modifies the display of Autorev information to match the Inspect 
  program

The included RELEASE.TXT file lists new functionality.

 HOW TO USE:

1.  Download the SoftPaq to a temporary directory on your hard drive 
    and change to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is 
    SP2394.EXE.

2.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:
    SP2394 [ENTER]
    The following files should be created:
        survey.exe
        surveyor.exe
        halhook.sys
        mssngrus.dll
        survey.ref
        survey.hlp
        survey.cnt
        SP2394.DOC
        README.TXT
        release.txt

3.  After the files are created, you may delete the downloaded file 
    SP2394.EXE if you wish.

4.  Refer to SP2394.DOC and README.TXT for instructions on installing
    and using the software.
