DESCRIPTION:
This softpaq contains the Netware Compaq Power Management
Agents version 1.82.  This release addresses a Netware Fix.

The Netware issue that is addressed in this release is as follows:

Under the following conditions, Compaq Power Mangagement for Netware
version 1.81 may fail to load citing the error "Communications Failure with UPS"

1. CPM was installed under Netware 6

2. CPM was installed under Netware 5.1 with Service Pack 4 or greater installed.


Softpaq SP21836 can be used to patch an existing system.  SP21836
can be obtained from ftp.compaq.com. 
        
If you are running a version of Compaq Power Management less than 1.82, this softpaq
can also be used to upgrade to the most current version Compaq Power Management.


Enhancements/Fixes: 
This release is to fix UPS communication issues with Netware 6 and Netware 5.1 with
Service Pack 4 or greater installed.

HOW TO USE:

 1. Download the SoftPaq into a directory and change to that
    directory.  The file that is downloaded is an executable with
    a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

 2. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file.
    Change to the directory that contains the expanded files
    and launch Setup.exe. Follow the on-screen instructions to install
    the program.

 3. Copy the files created to a temporary subdirectory on the Netware file server.
    Run cpmsetup.nlm from the console. Eg. if the temporary subdirectory chosen is
    SYS:\temp, execute the following command:

    SYS:\temp\cpmsetup

    Follow the on-screen instructions to install the program.	

 4. After the program is installed the softpaq and all 
    installation files expanded in the directory in step 1
    can be deleted.
