(Note:  SP2167 and SP1924 contain identical ROMPaqs; however, 
SP2167 is able to create the ROMPaq diskette on an LS-120 drive, and 
SP1924 is not.)

DESCRIPTION:  This creates a ROMPaq firmware upgrade diskette on a 
1.44-MB drive or an LS-120 drive.  The diskette upgrades 
the System ROM on Deskpro and ProLinea units with a 486Y Family ROM to the 
04/25/96 version.  The ROM Family and ROM date can be determined 
by running F10 Setup.  This 04/25/96 version fixes erroneous 202 error
messages on warm boots for EDO machines, stays connected to the network
after wakeup from suspend mode, fixes problems with "format /s" and "sys"
commands with some drives, and fixes POST problems with Sony Multiscan
monitors. 

HOW TO USE:

1.  Obtain a formatted 1.44 MB diskette.

2.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to 
that directory.  The file that is downloaded is SP2167.EXE.

3.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:
    SP2167 [ENTER]
You will be prompted to place the formatted 1.44 MB diskette into a 
diskette drive to create the diskette.

4.  After the diskette is created, you may delete the downloaded file 
SP2167.EXE if you wish.

5.  Keeping the newly created diskette in the A: drive, cycle system 
power to boot from the ROMPaq diskette.

6.  Follow the on-screen instructions to select the 04/25/96 Compaq 
System ROM and flash the firmware.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT TURN OFF POWER TO THE SYSTEM WHILE PERFORMING THIS 
PROCEDURE!
