(Note:  SP2166 and SP1923 contain identical ROMPaqs; however, 
SP2166 is able to create the ROMPaq diskette on an LS-120 drive, and 
SP1923 is not.)

DESCRIPTION:  This creates a ROMPaq firmware upgrade diskette on a 
1.44-MB drive or an LS-120 drive.  The diskette upgrades 
the System ROM on Deskpro and ProLinea units with a 486G Family ROM to 
the 05/01/96 version.  The ROM Family and ROM date can be determined 
by running F10 Setup.  This 05/01/96 version stays connected to a network 
after wakeup from suspend mode, fixes problems with "format /s" and "sys" 
commands with some drives, fixes POST problems with Sony Multiscan 
monitors, and fixes a lost video problem with the Artist PCI Video 
adapter. 

HOW TO USE:

1.  Obtain a formatted 1.44 MB diskette.

2.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to 
that directory.  The file that is downloaded is SP2166.EXE.

3.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:
    SP2166 [ENTER]
You will be prompted to place the formatted 1.44 MB diskette into a 
diskette drive to create the diskette.

4.  After the diskette is created, you may delete the downloaded file 
SP2166.EXE if you wish.

5.  Keeping the newly created diskette in the A: drive, cycle system 
power to boot from the ROMPaq diskette.

6.  Follow the on-screen instructions to select the 05/01/96 Compaq 
System ROM and flash the firmware.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT TURN OFF POWER TO THE SYSTEM WHILE PERFORMING THIS 
PROCEDURE!
