DESCRIPTION:  The Options ROMPaq diskettes allow a user to upgrade the
ROM Firmware images for Compaq System product Options.  The Options
ROMPaq consists of 3 diskettes containing firmware for:
   Disk 1 -  SMART SCSI Array Controllers and some Hard Drives
   Disk 2 -  Additional Hard Drives
   Disk 3 -  Tape Drives

Enhancements/Fixes:
-  Fixed SMART-2/P Controller firmware so that it now disables
background activities on the SMART-2/P Controllers when the firmware of
drives connected to those controllers is being upgraded (flashed).

NOTE:  Firmware below preceded by an "*" is not included in the .INF
files due to space limitations in the systems partition.

NOTE:   Multiple firmware versions exist for these products.  This
ROMpaq utility will identify and upgrade the correct firware to the
specific OEM tape hardware product.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq a directory on your hard drive and change to
that directory.  The file downloaded to your hard drive is SP1995.EXE.

2. Obtain three (3) formatted 1.44MB diskettes and place one of them in
your diskette drive.

3. Execute the SoftPaq file:  SP1995 [ENTER]
You will be prompted to insert the formatted diskettes to create the
three Options ROMPaq Firmware Upgrade Diskettes:
DISK #1 -- SMART SCSI Array Controllers and Hard Drives
DISK #2 -- Additional Hard Drives
DISK #3 -- SCSI DAT and Tape Drives

4. After the diskettes are created, you may delete the downloaded file
SP1995.EXE if you wish.

5. The Options ROMPaq diskettes are self booting diskettes.  Place
each ROMPaq diskette into your drive A: diskette drive and power cycle
your system to begin updating the appropriate components.
