DESCRIPTION:
Provides a disk for the installation of the ATA RAID Management
Utility for use with supported Linux distributions on the ATA
Version of the ML 330G2.
Following execution the user will need to follow the instructions
included in the associated README-19750.TXT file.

HOW TO USE:
1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and
change to that directory. The file that is downloaded is a tgz
file with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.
2. From that drive and directory, type
tar -zxvf sp19750.tar.gz
to extract the downloaded file. The RPM file will
be created in the current directory.
3. After the RPM file is extracted, you may delete the SoftPaq file
downloaded in step 1.
4. Refer to the installation instructions below for details on
installation of the utility.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Extract the SoftPaq to a floppy.
2. Download the Spy-co-<version>.rpm file and copy it to a floppy.
2.1. Mount the floppy (mount /mnt/floppy)
2.2. Copy the Spy-co-<version>.rpm to any directory
(cp /mnt/floppy/Spy-co-<version>.rpm /root)
2.3. Unmount the floppy (umount /mnt/floppy)
3. Only after the Linux OS is installed and the MegaIDE driver is
operating properly, then the user can install the Integrated ATA RAID
Management Utility
3.1. Change directory to the location in which the RPM
(Spy-co-<version>.rpm) was copied/extracted in step 2.
3.2. Install the files by running the RPM. At the command prompt
run, rpm ?i Spy-co-<version>.rpm. This will install the following
components:
3.2.1. /usr/sbin/Spy
3.2.2. /usr/sbin/CheckSpy
3.2.3. /usr/sbin/options
3.2.4. /etc/rc.d/init.d/spy
3.2.5. /usr/doc/Spy-6.0.3/README
4. Installation is complete.
Notes to the user:
? To update newer RPM packages of Spy, please consult the
manual pages for RPM on how to update to new RPM packages.
? Spy must be unloaded to use FDISK to partition new drives
on the IDE controller. You can do this by using the following
steps.
? Spy ?stop
? fdisk /dev/sd*
? mkfs /dev/sd*
? mount /dev/sd* /<any dir>
? Spy ?start
