DESCRIPTION:

This Softpaq creates the OS/2 Support Software Diskettes
for Compaq (SSD).

SSD contains OS/2 drivers for Storage, Health, System Management
and Remote Management. This software enhances the performance of 
Compaq options such as Compaq Drive Array controllers, Compaq 
SCSI controllers, and Compaq CD-ROM drives.
This software requires 2 formatted 1.44-MB diskettes.
 
Enhancements/Fixes in Version 4.55 Rev. A

The following Compaq Drivers were updated:

 - Compaq System Management Driver
   CPQSMGT.SYS v2.25
   - Fixed an error where fan speed was not being initialized to
     normal. The system BIOS sets the fan speed to maximum and when              
     the Compaq System Management Driver loads, it sets the speed 
     to normal.
     
   
 - Compaq Wide Ultra3 Adpater Driver
   AICU160.ADD v10.21
   - Fixed an error where the system hangs if BIOS32 Helper driver,
     CPQB32.SYS, is present in the system.

at the OS/2 prompt.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and 
   change to that directory. The file that is downloaded is a self 
   extracting executable with a file name SP19637.EXE.

2. From that drive and directory, execute the Softpaq
   file:
      SP19637 [ENTER]

   The following files should be created:

   QRST5.EXE
   217380US._01
   217380US._02
   
3. Obtain 2 formatted 1.44-MB diskettes.

4. To create the diskettes, run QRST5 and follow the
   on-screen instructions.

5. After the diskettes are created, you may delete the
   downloaded file SP19637.EXE and the other files created
   on your hard drive if you wish.

6. Type VIEWME at the command prompt on the First Diskette
   for additional information.
