DESCRIPTION:
This SoftPaq creates files that contain a binary image for the System ROM for
the Compaq Models with a 686P9 Family ROM.

This SoftPaq is used to flash the System ROM on target PCs on a network, and it
requires System Software Manager (SSM) or Remote Management Setup.

The ROM Family and ROM date can be determined by running the Setup Utility by
pressing F10 on the target computer during system power on of the computer,
and viewing File/System Information.  This information can be saved into a text 
file by selecting File/Save to Diskette.

NOTE:
This is the same System ROM version that was originally included on the above 
models.  It is not an upgrade.  It is made available here as a convenience for 
users who may need to restore it to their computer for any reason.

If you use System Software Manager (SSM) to deploy SoftPaqs within your
organization, you must upgrade to SSM version 1.50 (SP17447) or greater, which 
supports all new and existing SoftPaq formats.  For information on SSM, check

HOW TO USE: 
1.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive.  The file
downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename based on the
SoftPaq Number above.

2.  Refer to the remote utility documentation for instructions on creating a
Remote ROM Flash job to flash the System ROM on target PCs on the network.
WARNING:  DO NOT TURN OFF POWER OR ATTEMPT TO REBOOT THE COMPUTER DURING THE
UPGRADE PROCESS!!!
