DESCRIPTION:
This SoftPaq creates a set of utility files that can be used with a remote
configuration tool such as Altiris eXpress to update or restore the System ROM
in the Compaq Evo D500, D300, and W4000 models with a 686Y2 Family ROM. It also
includes the ROM Image.

The standard ROMPaq will not work for updating a PC remotely over a
network.

The ROM Family and ROM date can be determined by running the Setup Utility by
pressing F10 on the target computer during system power on of the computer, and
viewing File/System Information. This information can be saved into a text
file by selecting File/Save to Diskette.

ENHANCEMENTS/FIXES:
 - This is the same System ROM version that was originally included on the above
models. It is not an upgrade. It is made available here as a convenience
for users who may need to restore it to their computer for any reason.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive. The file
downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq
Number above.

2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.
Entering "Y" confirms the unpacking of several files.

3. After the files have been created, you may delete the self-extracting file
downloaded in step 1.

4. Refer to the files README.TXT and REPSET.TXT for further information about
the utility programs.
