SP1876 — MediaPilot Fax Driver Patch; Several versions of MediaPilot exhibit text clipping or overlapping when sending a fax from certain 32-bit word processor applications under Windows 95. Faxing from Microsoft WordPad or MS Word 7.0 will exhibit the problem; especially if using larger or bold fonts. DESCRIPTION: This SoftPaq only applies to customers with Presario
computers with one of the MediaPilot versions listed above. The patch in
this Softpaq DOES NOT apply to MediaPilot FE.
Several versions of MediaPilot exhibit text clipping or overlapping when
sending a fax from certain 32-bit word processor applications under
Windows 95. For example, faxing from Microsoft WordPad or MS Word 7.0
exhibits the problem, especially if using large or bold fonts.
This updated fax driver will correct the problem on the MediaPilot
versions listed above.
HOW TO USE:
1. Obtain 1 formatted 1.44 MB diskette.
2. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to
that directory. The file that is downloaded is SP1876.EXE.
3. From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:
SP1876 [ENTER]
You will be prompted to place the formatted 1.44 MB diskette into a
diskette drive to create the diskette.
4. After the diskette is created, you may delete the downloaded file
SP1876.EXE if you wish.
5. To install, make sure the newly created diskette is in drive A.
From Windows 95:
Select Start, Run... and type A:\CPQINST [ENTER]
6. When the installation is complete, remove the diskette from the
drive and restart the computer by selecting Start, Shutdown....
Click on the button next to "Restart the computer?" and click on "Yes".
