DESCRIPTION:  This creates a diskette providing Windows 95 audio drivers for the ESS688 or ESS1688 audio chipsets used in the LTE 5000 family.

HOW TO USE:

1.  Obtain one formatted 1.44 MB diskette.

2.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is SP1860.EXE.

3.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:
    SP1860 [ENTER]
You will be prompted to place the formatted 1.44 MB diskette into a diskette drive to create the diskette.

4.  After the diskette is created, you may delete the downloaded file SP1860.EXE if you wish.

5.  Insert the diskette into the A: drive.  

6. Under Windows 95, perform right mouse click on "My Computer" to bring up the "System Properties" dialog box.

7. Select "Device manager", double click on "Sound, video and game controllers".  This should display the "ESS ESxx88 AudioDrive" , where ESxx88 refers to ES688 for the LTE 5000, LTE 5100, or LTE 5200  and ES1688 for the LTE 5280 and LTE 5300.

8. Double click on the "ESS ESxx88 AudioDrive" to bring up the "ESS Esxx88 AudioDrive Properties" dialog box.

9. Select "Driver" to show the driver files.  Click the "Change Driver" button.  This brings up the "Select Device" dialog box.

10. Click the "Have Disk..." button, enter A:\ in the "Install From Disk" dialog box, and click "OK".

11. This should bring up another "Select Device" dialog box with the "ESS ESxx88 AudioDrive" selected.  Click the "OK" button.

12. Click the "OK" button on the "ESS ESxx88 AudioDrive Properties" dialog box.  Click the "Close" button on the "System Properties" dialog box.

13. Restart your PC.
