DESCRIPTION: Contains audio drivers for Windows 95 or Windows 98 (Gold/Retail)
             for the embedded Compaq/ADI SoundMax Audio Controller in the
             computers listed in PRODUCTS AFFECTED.

       NOTE: DirectX 6.1A and DXMedia must be installed on the unit.  DirectX and
             DXMedia can be obtained from Microsoft's web site.


ENHANCEMENTS/FIXES: 
 - Adds support for new products.
 - Changes the version scheme to meet Microsoft version scheme requirements.
 - Resolves Slovenia installation lockup issue.
 - Resolves issue playing an audio file from the server.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive.
   The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename
   based on the SoftPaq Number above.

2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.

3. After the files have been unpacked, you may delete the self-extracting
   file downloaded in step 1.

4. To install run the SETUP program.

5. After the installation is completed, you may delete the directory
   created in step 2 if you wish.
