OPERATING SYSTEM:  Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 (Beta 2) and Windows NT 3.51

DESCRIPTION:  The Compaq HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer) and System Management drivers in this Softpaq correct an incompatibility issue with the Compaq Support Software Diskette for Windows NT Version 1.18 or earlier and Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 (Beta 2).

HOW TO USE:

1.  Obtain a formatted 1.44 MB diskette.

2.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is SP1840.EXE.

3.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:
SP1840 [ENTER]
You will be prompted to place the formatted 1.44 MB diskette into a diskette drive to create the diskette.

4.  After the diskette is created, you may delete the downloaded file SP1840.EXE if you wish.

5.  Refer to the file README.TXT on the created diskette for instructions on the following three options for installing the drivers in this Softpaq:
   a)  Install during a new MS Windows NT 4.0 Beta 2 installation.
   b)  Install before upgrading to MS Windows NT 4.0 Beta 2.
   c)  Install after installing/upgrading to MS Windows NT 4.0 Beta 2.
