DESCRIPTION:  This creates a diskette containing the Compaq Inventory Collector for System Management Server (SMS) for Windows NT Desktops.  It adds Compaq-specific Computer Properties windows to the SMS client application.  The Inventory Collector program can either execute as part of the System Management Server logon script file (for Windows NT workstations only) or at the DOS command prompt.  Designed to work with Window NT 3.51 Workstation, this program also works with Windows 95.

PREREQUISITE: 
- Compaq Insight Management Desktop Agents for Windows NT Ver 2.60 (SoftPaq SP1541) or later
       or
  Compaq Insight Management Desktop Agents for Windows 95 Ver 1.00C (SoftPaq SP1522)
- System Management Server client Version 1.0 or later.

HOW TO USE

1.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory. The file downloaded to your hard drive is SP1832.EXE.

2.  Execute the SoftPaq file:  SP1832 [ENTER]
The following files should be created:
COLLECTD.EXE 
SP1832.DOC

3.  After the files are copied, you may delete the downloaded file SP1832.EXE if you wish.

4.  To execute Compaq Inventory Collector as part of the logon script, add the following line in file SMSLS.BAT under the :RUN NT section:
SETLS%SMS_OS% -m:E -l -p:%SMS_BIN%COLLECTD.EXE -pa:%SMS -pa:/M

To execute Compaq Inventory Collector at a DOS command prompt, type:
collect /m /sms

5.  To display the help screen for more usage information , type:
collect /?
