DESCRIPTION:  This SoftPaq contains firmware image version 5.25
              for Compaq TL89x DLT tape libraries.




VERSION 5.25 for Compaq TL89x Tape Libraries corrects the
following problems:

Multi-Unit configurations of Compaq StorageWorks TL890, TL891 
and TL892 DLT Mini-Libraries with firmware version 5.14 may show 
a front panel Fault Symptom Code of "6013 - Invalid Comm Block Type",
causing the Library to go offline. 


Compaq Tape Storage Management Console (TSMC) and other third party
backup software may not recognize all tapes installed in the magazine.

Loud grinding sound coming from the Library as though the picker is 
misaligned. After inventory is complete, TSMC or third party backup 
software does not recognize all tapes in the magazine.


"3200 Elevator Jammed" appears on the front panel of the Library- The 
elevator was unable to position properly while attempting to recover 
an orphaned cartridge.

"3201 Elevator Jammed"  appears on the front panel of the Library- The 
elevator was unable to position properly during an inventory.




HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change 
   to that directory.  The downloaded file (sp18010.exe) is a 
   self-extracting executable.

2. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file 
   (sp18010.exe) and follow the on-screen instructions to unpack the files.
   The destination of the files to be created and total file size is 
   displayed.  The current directory will be the destination directory.

The following files will be created:
       
       DltLib4Ch_0525.bin
       README.TXT


3. README.TXT contains information on a software tool
   that can be used to download this firmware image into a TL89x library.

4. After the files have been created, you may delete the downloaded 
   file from step 1 (sp18010.exe).
