DESCRIPTION:  The Tape Options ROMPaq diskettes allow a user to
              upgrade the ROM Firmware images on Compaq tape 
              product Options. The Tape Options ROMPaq consists of five 
              (5) diskettes:

Disk 1  - This is the boot disk for this release.

Disk 2 - Tape Options ROMpaq Firmware Upgrade Diskette for:
- Compaq SDLT1 110/220 Tape drives 
  (both standalone and library) NOT FIBRE ATTTACHED

Disk 3 - Tape Options ROMpaq Firmware Upgrade Diskette for:
- Compaq DLT40/80 Tape drives (both standalone and library)

Disk 4 - Tape Options ROMpaq Firmware Upgrade Diskette for:
- Compaq SDLT1 110/220 Tape drives 
  (both standalone and library) FIBRE ATTTACHED ONLY

Disk 5 - Tape Options ROMpaq Firmware Upgrade Diskette for:
- Compaq 12/24-GB DAT drive (SDT9000)

HOW TO USE:

1. Obtain up to 5 1.44-MB diskettes.

2. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change 
to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is an executable with 
a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

3. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file 
and follow the on-screen instructions.  You will be prompted to 
insert a formatted diskette in a drive to create the diskette.

4. After all diskettes have been created, you may delete the  
SoftPaq file downloaded in step 2.

5. Tape Options ROMPaq 1.81 diskette 1 is the only self-booting diskette.
Place ROMPaq diskette 1 into your drive A: diskette drive and
power cycle your system to begin updating the appropriate components.

6. When the "Refresh/Change Disk" option appears, insert the proper
diskette for the intended controller/drive combination, then click on 
"Refresh/Change Disk" and continue following the menus.
