DESCRIPTION:

This Softpaq creates the OS/2 Support Software Diskettes
for Compaq (SSD).

SSD contains OS/2 drivers for Storage, Health, System Management
and Remote Management. This software enhances the performance of 
Compaq options such as Compaq Drive Array controllers, Compaq 
SCSI controllers, and Compaq CD-ROM drives.
This software requires 2 formatted 1.44-MB diskettes.
 
Enhancements/Fixes in Version 4.54 Rev. A

This release of OS/2 Support Software Diskette v4.54 Rev A,
supports the following new products:

Compaq ProLiant ML350 Server.

The following Compaq Drivers were updated:
 - Compaq System Management Driver
   CPQSMGT.SYS v2.24
   - Adds support for the Compaq ProLiant ML350 G2 Server.
   - Adds support for ADM 1029 controllers.
   - Fixed an error where increase in system temperature was not
     being updated on the console.
   - Fixed an error where removal or insertion of fan was not being
     updated on the console.

The following changes were made to the diskette-based format of SSD:
 - The diskettes were reduced from 6 diskettes to 2 diskettes. The 
   Softpaq now contains only OS/2 drivers. The first diskette is 
   named "System and Storage Drivers-1" and the second diskette is 
   named "System and Storage Drivers-2".
 - All the Storage drivers (under \ADD directory) were moved to 
   diskette one.
 - All the other System drivers were moved to diskette two.

at the OS/2 prompt.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and 
   change to that directory. The file that is downloaded is a self 
   extracting executable with a file name SP17892.EXE.

2. From that drive and directory, execute the Softpaq
   file:
      SP17892 [ENTER]

   The following files should be created:

   QRST5.EXE
   217380US._01
   217380US._02
   
3. Obtain 2 formatted 1.44-MB diskettes.

4. To create the diskettes, run QRST5 and follow the
   on-screen instructions.

5. After the diskettes are created, you may delete the
   downloaded file SP17892.EXE and the other files created
   on your hard drive if you wish.

6. Type VIEWME at the command prompt on the First Diskette
   for additional information.
