DESCRIPTION:
    This SoftPaq contains the Compaq Hardware Abstraction Layer Utility for Windows NT 4.O. The utility is used for upgrading to the multiprocessor HAL and kernel files OR for downgrading to the uniprocessor HAL and kernel files.
    The utility also provides the ability to install the HAL Recovery boot option. This option allows a user to recover the system from a blue-screen trap, which might occur as a result of mismatching hardware with the installed HAL.

    This SoftPaq creates two files: CPQNTHAL.EXE, CPQNTHAL.HLP.
    Please run CPQNTHAL.HLP for an overview and usage instructions.



HOW TO USE:

 1. Download the SoftPaq into a directory and change to that
    directory.  The file that is downloaded is an executable with
    a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

 2. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file
    and follow the on-screen instructions.  The following files will be
    extracted into that directory:
      	CPQNTHAL.EXE
	CPQNTHAL.HLP
	
 3. After the files have been created, you may delete the downloaded
    SoftPaq file.

 5. For usage instructions, refer to CPQNTHAL.HLP.
