DESCRIPTION:  
Firmware upgrades available for the FCTC and FCTC-II.

The files created from this softpaq are the upgraded firmware 
and the associated installation instructions.

This is a maintenance release which corrects these known issues: 

--Implicit Logout/Login issue which causes instability in large 
             Fibre Channel Arbitrated Loop configurations.
--Incorrect handling of SCSI Reserve and Release commands.  
             This issue can affect VERITAS Backup Exec SAN 
             configurations.
--Corrects a problem with Device Inquiry timeouts to busy 
             Fibre Channel LUNs.  This issue affects Legato Networker 
             6.0.1 with SmartMedia 1.4.1.
--Improved Inquiry data caching.

This maintenance release is recommended for all EBS configurations.  

This softpaq does not require diskettes.




Enhancements/Fixes:



HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive.
The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename 
based on the SoftPaq Number above.

2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions. 
Enter "Y" to confirm the unpacking of files into the download directory. 

3. After the files have been unpacked, you may delete the self-extracting file 
downloaded in step 1.

4. For installation instructions, refer to README.TXT in the created directory. 

5. After the installation is completed, you may delete the files unpacked in step 2.
