DESCRIPTION: This is the system BIOS (ROMPaq) upgrade for the Armada notebook 
family and models listed in PRODUCTS AFFECTED above.  The BIOS interfaces 
directly with the hardware of system.

ENHANCEMENTS/FIXES:
 - Fixes issue where CpqFlash.exe caused blue screen error in Windows 2000 and Windows NT.
 - Fixes boot issue where floppy drive 0 was always assigned even if multiboot was enabled.
 - Fixes SMBIOWFM test, which was failing. 
 - Fixes Speedstep error when system was on AC and resumed from Standby.
 - Fixes Microsoft Ballpoint trackball not working when F10 setup in single mouse mode.
 - Fixes 103-Battery charge failure.
 - Fixes Windows 2000 issue where modem was disabled when F12 override was pressed.
 - Fixes Windows 2000 lockup during startup when USB CD writer from HP was attached.
 - Fixes DMI update of CPU speed on S3 resume.
 - Fixes blue screen error after Resume if audio was playing with USB keyboard attached.
 - Fixes incorrect CPU speed when AC/DC change during Suspend.
 - Fixes lockup on WIndows reboot with legacy USB was enabled.
 - Turns off display when external monitor is being blanked.
 - Fixes intermittent I2C problems when the notebook was docked. 

HOW TO USE

1. Obtain a formatted 1.44-MB diskette.

2. Download the ROMPaq/SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that 
directory.  The file that is downloaded is an executable with a filename based 
on the ROMPaq/SoftPaq Number above.

3. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file 
and follow the on-screen instructions.  You will be prompted to 
insert the formatted diskette in a drive to create the diskette.

4. After the diskette has been created, you may delete the  
SoftPaq file downloaded in step 2.

5. Turn off the computer.

6. Place the newly created Compaq Armada M300 ROMPaq Diskette in Drive A: 
and turn on the computer. Follow the instructions on the screen to upgrade the 
System BIOS.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT TURN OFF POWER TO THE COMPUTER WHILE PERFORMING THIS PROCEDURE!
