DESCRIPTION:  	This contains the Windows ME and Windows 2000 driver for the 
		Conexant HCF V90 56K PCI Modem in the Presario models listed 
		above.

Enhancements/Fixes:
 - This release fixes the Japan pulse dial issue dropping numbers.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a temporary, empty directory on your 
	hard drive.  The file downloaded is a self-extracting 
	executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions
	to install the driver and reboot. 

3.a.	Installation Instructions for Windows 2000:
	After the reboot the OS will find new hardware -> Next ->
	check Search for a suitable driver for my device 
	(Recommended) -> Next -> check Specify a location -> Next ->
	Type in the location C:\CPQDRV\Modem -> OK ->
	Next -> Finish

3.b. 	Installation Instructions for Windows Millennium:
	After the reboot the OS will load the old modem drivers 
	contained on the Compaq hard drive.
	The modem is working and functional, however, the drivers 
	are older than those contained within this SoftPaq.  To 
	upgrade your modem drivers:
	Click on Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> System -> 
	Device Manager tab -> Double Click on HCFMODEMWDM -> 
	Double Click on Conexant PCI Modem Enumerator -> 
	Driver tab -> Update Driver -> 
	Specify the location of the driver (Advanced) -> Next -> 
	Check Specify a location -> 
	Type in the location C:\CPQDRV\Miscos -> Next ->
	Next -> Next -> Finish -> Close.
	Click on Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> System -> 
	Device Manager tab -> Double Click on MODEM -> 
	Double Click on Conexant HCF V90 56K Data Fax PCI Modem ->
	Driver tab -> Update Driver -> 
	Specify the location of the driver (Advanced) -> Next -> 
	Check Specify a location -> 
	Type in the location C:\CPQDRV\Miscos -> Next -> 
	Next -> Next -> Finish -> Close.

4. After the driver has been installed, you may delete the 
	self-extracting file downloaded in step 1 if you wish.
