DESCRIPTION:  Unpacks the files needed to install the full verison of
              Compaq Insight Manager XE Version 2.1

ENHANCEMENTS FROM VERSION 2.0:

Compaq Insight Manager XE provides web-based management of Compaq servers,
clients and any SNMP MIB-2 or DMI v2 compliant device.  In addition to 
time-saving queries and tasks provided with previous versions, version 2.1
provides the following additional fixes:

      - Fixed problem applying VCDB delta when updating the Version Control
        database from the internet.
      - Added support for Internet Explorer 5.5 (also in XE 2.0b softpaq)
      - Fixed problem with truncation of paging message at 64 characters.
      - Fixed paging problems on Windows 2000 and the ability to read
        modem initialization strings from the Windows 2000 registry.
      - Added ability to set modem data format (word length, parity, stop
        bits) for each user.  Previously, only supported 7 bit data, even
        parity, 1 stop bit.  This allows paging to work with paging services
        that require a different data format.
      - Enhanced the paging status logs to add more information and to
        change the filenames to naturally sort in time order.
      - Resolved issues with Compaq Insight Manager XE environment variables
        when passed as a parameter in an Application Launch task.
      - Made Help file and documentation updates.
      - Fixed other assorted problems, which are detailed in the release
        notes.

  Version 2.1 also includes the following fix and enhancement for Japanese 
  support:
      - Translation changes for registered default MIB.
      - Pager support. FLEX-TD type of Pager is now supported.
      - Add MIB Translation Manager Utility.
      - Translation issue fix for event type list. When creating Event or Task 
        Query, Device Discovery and Cluster Monitor events were listed under 
        wrong name.
      - V2.1 supports to use Japanese for name of user created time filter.


HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change
   to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is a self-extracting
   executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

2. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file.  It
   will unpack the files, and run 'install.bat'.  This will present
   a menu similar to the following:

     1 - View "Preview and Preparation Guide" (Adobe format)
           
     2 - View "Release Notes" (Adobe format)
           
     3 - (OPTIONAL) Install Microsoft Database Engine (MSDE).  Only
         select this option if you will NOT be using Microsoft SQL Server.
           
     4 - Install Compaq Insight Manager XE 2.1 (Japanese)
           
     E - Exit menu

3. It is recommended that you view the "Preview and Preparation Guide"
   and the "Release notes" before selecting to install Compaq 
   Insight Manager XE 2.1.   The "Preview and Preparation Guide" is 
   in .pdf format and requires Adobe Acrobat Reader for viewing.

4. After the installation files have been created, you may delete the
   self-extracting file downloaded in step 1.

6. After a successful installation, you may delete the files unpacked
   in step 2 if you wish.
