SYSTEM CONFIGURATION:  An existing NetWare server is updated with Cheyenne ARCserve 6.0 for NetWare for Compaq using the Compaq SmartStart Release 2.50A Update program

SUPERSEDES:  N/A

DESCRIPTION: Corrects an ARCserve 6.0 for NetWare license problem created when the SmartStart 2.50A Update program is used to add ARCserve 6.0 to an existing server.  If SmartStart Release 2.50A is used to install ARCserve 6.0 on the server when the server is first set up with a "fresh" installation of the operating system, this problem does not occur and CPQAS6FX.NLM is not needed.  

The invalid ARCserve 6.0 license file conflicts with other ARCserve 6.0 servers on the network that also used the SmartStart 2.50A Update program to add ARCserve 6.0 to an existing server.  The ARCserve 6.0 policy manager prevents ARCserve from loading because two (or more) servers have the same invalid serial number.

To correct the ARCserve 6.0 license problem, or to detect if you have an invalid license installed, you need the following: 
- Original SmartStart Release 2.50A Program License Diskette
- The SmartStart ARCserve 6.0 Activation Key used during the update
- CPQAS6FX.NLM Compaq patch utility from this Softpaq (SP1632) 

HOW TO USE:

1.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is SP1632.EXE.

2.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:
SP1632 [ENTER]
The following files should be created:
CPQAS6FX.NLM
README.TXT

3.  After the files are created, you may delete the downloaded file SP1632.EXE if you wish.

4.  Refer to README.TXT for instructions on installing the patch NLM.
