DESCRIPTION: This SoftPaq contains the files that allow you to upgrade the
firmware for the Compaq StorageWorks Modular Data Router (MDR).
Enhancements/Fixes:
?Support for up to Two Fibre Channel Ports increases the amount of data that a single
Modular Data Router can handle at one time.
?Support for up to Eight SCSI Ports increases the number of SCSI devices that can be
supported by a single Modular Data Router.
?Selective Storage Presentation is a Compaq storage controller feature that enables shared
use of a storage subsystem by multiple servers. SSP guarantees that the storage sets created
on a single storage subsystem can only be accessed by designated servers, allowing non-cooperating
heterogeneous and homogeneous servers to share a storage subsystem without one server corrupting
data from another.
?SCSI Controller Command (SCC) Support allows the Modular Data Router to support more than eight
SCSI devices (if the Operating System allows). The SCC virtual device speeds up the start-up of the
server by reporting the number of devices attached to the Modular Data Router.
