DESCRIPTION:  A Sound Blaster 16 PnP adapter on a ProLinea E Series unit can randomly lose its resources and become inoperable.  The most common resource lost is the DMA.  The problem generates an error message that displays as Windows starts up.  The problem can also be identified by running the Creative Labs Diagnose utility.  This SoftPaq contains a fix.

HOW TO USE:

1.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is SP1618.EXE.

2.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:
SP1618 [ENTER]
The following files should be created:
          CPQSB16.SYS
          CPQSB16.EXE
          CPQSB16.DOC

3.  After the files are created, you may delete the copied file SP1618.EXE if you wish.

4.  Read the CPQSB16.DOC for further installation instructions.
