DESCRIPTION: This SoftPaq creates a ROMPaq firmware diskette that can be used 
to restore the System ROM in the iPAQ models with a 686J5 Family ROM. 

A unique feature of the ROM is one that allows the user to select the language 
used in F10 Setup. The user may choose between Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, 
French, German, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, or Swedish. 
Please note, however, that the user sees the chosen language only in F10 Setup, 
not in the operating system. 

NOTE:  The ROM Family and ROM date can be determined by running the Setup 
Utility by pressing F10 on the target computer during system power on of the 
computer, and viewing File/System Information.  This information can be saved 
into a text file by selecting File/Save to Diskette.

ENHANCEMENTS/FIXES:
 - Prevents the boot order from being set to the system default order whenever a 
   device is inserted or removed from the Multibay slot. Corrects this issue by 
   making the Multibay seen as always present in the Setup Utility Boot Order.

 - Corrects a problem of characters being displayed when hitting the keyboard at 
   the same time a Suspend event was occurring.

HOW TO USE:

1.  Obtain a formatted 1.44-MB diskette and place it in your A: drive.

2.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that 
directory.  The file that is downloaded is an executable with a filename based 
on the SoftPaq Number above.

3.  From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file and follow the 
on-screen instructions to build the ROMPaq diskette.

4.  After the diskette has been created, you may delete the SoftPaq file downloaded 
in step 2.

5.  Place the newly created diskette in the A: drive of the computer to be upgraded 
or restored and cycle system power to boot from the ROMPaq diskette.

6.  Follow the on-screen instructions to select the v2.06 Compaq System ROM and 
flash the firmware.

WARNING:  DO NOT TURN OFF POWER OR ATTEMPT TO REBOOT THE COMPUTER DURING THE 
UPGRADE PROCESS!!!
