DESCRIPTION:  MOVEPCI resolves an anomaly between Novell Netware Server (and similar software that manages extended memory directly) and Compaq computers with a PCI bus.  The anomaly  prevents some PCI network adapters from functioning properly.

Compaq computers that contain a PCI bus have protected mode 32-bit PCI services located at the end address of memory (4 gigabytes).  This memory address is not usable by Novell Server software and similar software that cannot manage non-contiguous blocks of extended memory.  PCI drivers that do direct calls to the PCI 32-bit address will not function in this environment.  MOVEPCI re-locates the PCI services to the F000 block of memory, where they are accessible by the Novell Server software.

This version of MOVEPCI (4.1) replaces previous versions of MOVEPCI to support current models of Compaq computers that contain a PCI bus.

HOW TO USE:

1.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is SP1599.EXE.

2.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:
SP1599 [ENTER]
The following files should be created:
MOVEPCI.SYS
MOVEPCI.DOC 

3.  After the files are created, you may delete the downloaded file SP1599.EXE if you wish.

4.  To install the software, refer to MOVEPCI.DOC.
