DESCRIPTION:  This SoftPaq contains Compaq IJ750 Color InkJet Printer drivers for
Windows 2000. 

       NOTE:  Installing these drivers requires a moderate levelof technical 
              proficiency with Windows 2000.

HOW TO USE:

Log on to Windows 2000 as a user with administrative privileges before
following these steps.

1.  Download the SoftPaq file into an easily-remembered location, such
    as the Desktop. The SoftPaq file is a self-extracting executable
    program named SP15839.EXE

2.  Check that the Compaq IJ750 is properly connected to your computer
    and is powered on. Consult the printer user guide for assistance.

3.  Open (or Run) the SoftPaq file that was downloaded in step 1 and
    follow the on-screen instructions. The SoftPaq file will be
    "unpacked" into a folder on your hard drive. By default, it will
    be unpacked into a folder named
    \Program Files\Compaq SoftPaqs\SP15839

4.  Select Start->Settings->Printers, then double-click the "Add
    Printers" icon.

5.  When the "Welcome to the Add Printer Wizard" screen appears,
    click [Next]

6.  When the "Local or Network Printer" screen appears, un-check
    the "Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer"
    box and click [Next]

7.  Select the printer port your printer is connected to then click
    [Next]

8.  When asked to select the manufacturer and model of your printer,
    click the [Have Disk] button.

9.  Click the [Browse] button and go to the folder where the SoftPaq
    file was unpacked (see step 3). Choose [Open] then click [OK].

10. Compaq IJ750 should appear. Click [Next] and follow the
    instructions on the screen.

11. When asked if you wish to print a test page, choose [No].

12. If you see a message that says "Digital Signature Not Found",
    choose [Yes] to continue. The driver will install correctly.

13. After the installation is complete, restart Windows.

14. You may delete the SoftPaq file (from step 1) and the SoftPaq
    folder (from step 3) if you wish.
