DESCRIPTION: Contains a utility to update the System BIOS for
Compaq Notebook 100 Series computers only.
Enhancements/Fixes:
- Fixes the issue where some PS/2 keyboards were not recognized on power-up.
- Allows user to check the Admin password at restart or in Setup Configuration
Utility (SCU).
- No longer beeps when Hotkey is pressed, to prevent dropping the MODEM link.
- Fixes the issue where all audio was lost when restarting in DOS mode.
- Fixes external PS/2 mouse failure by removing external keyboard patch code
(requires Keyboard BIOS Update, Version 1.14.00, available in SoftPaq SP15582).
- Adds "LCD Stretch" feature in Setup Configuration Utility (SCU).
HOW TO USE:
1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive.
The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename
based on the SoftPaq Number above.
2. Obtain a blank formatted floppy diskette and put the diskette into
drive A:. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.
3. Enter "Y" to confirm the unpacking of files into the download
directory on the diskette. After the files have been unpacked, the
SoftPaq utility will create a bootable floppy diskette.
4. Installation instructions:
a. Connect the unit to AC power
b. Place the diskette in drive a:
c. Boot the system and follow the on-screen instructions.
d. Remove the diskette and restart the system after system shuts down.
