DESCRIPTION: This creates a diskette for upgrading the ROM on a Compaq 288 Data Fax Modem, 
Series 571, to firmware version V1.210 - 027.  This modem is a PCMCIA Type II PC Card designed for use in Europe.

HOW TO USE:

1.  Obtain a formatted 1.44 MB diskette.

2.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is SP1550.EXE.

3.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file by entering SP1550 from a DOS prompt, or double clicking on the SP1550 icon in the folder for that directory.  You will be prompted to place the formatted 1.44 MB diskette into a diskette drive to create the modem ROM upgrade diskette.  The diskette will contain the following files:
FLASH.EXE
CPQ_027.P37
README.TXT

4.  After the diskette is created, you may delete the downloaded file SP1550.EXE if you wish.

5.  To upgrade the modem ROM, refer to README.TXT on the diskette.
