DESCRIPTION:  This softpaq will install Microsoft fixes and Compaq 
	enhancements designed to help your system run better.  This is 
	specifically for Windows 98 for the Armada systems listed above 
	in PRODUCTS AFFECTED.  

Unpacks files needed to install the Armada Specific
Models System Enhancements for Windows 98 for the models listed
above in PRODUCTS AFFECTED.  

Enhancements/Fixes: 
- Correct language IDs for Portuguese and Portuguese (Brazil)
- Correct QFE Execution to disable reboot message
- Add Windows 98 Shut down to correct "Windows stops responding during 
	shutdown with mapped drives." Update MAY 2000 (Q260067) for Win98 
	Second Edition.
	Copy USER.EXE   to \windows\system and \windows\options\cabs 
	folders.
	Copy USER32.DLL to \windows\system and \windows\options\cabs 
	folders.
- Set the "Max Cached Icons" registry key value to 500.

- Supports COMMON PRE-INSTALL IMAGE for Armada notebooks listed above.
- Adds support for Compaq System Software Manager (SSM).
- Add UHCD update (UHCD.SYS 4.10.2223) for Win98 Second Edition.  
	Copy UHCD.SYS to \windows\system and \windows\options\cabs folders.
- Add Multibay QFE (Q245234 - HSFLOP.PDR 4.10.2223) to fix blue screen 
	after multibay driver uninstall with Intel IDE controller.  
	Copy HSFLOP.PDR to \windows\system\iosubsys and 
	\windows\options\cabs folders.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive.
The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename 
based on the SoftPaq Number above.

2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions. 
Entering "Y" to confirm the unpacking of files creates a new directory 
folder in the download directory.  All files are unpacked into this 
newly created directory.

To create the two optional installation diskettes, run MAKEDISK.BAT and
follow on-screen instructions.

3. After the directory has been created, you may delete the 
self-extracting file downloaded in step 1.

4. To install, run SETUP.EXE.  For example, enter:

   <path>\SETUP
   where <path> is the drive and directory created in step 2
                      - or -
                   a diskette drive letter if using the optional 
                   installation diskettes

   Follow the on-screen instructions.

5. After the installation is completed, you may delete the directory 
created in step 2 if you wish.
