DESCRIPTION:  Compaq Power Management Extensions provide support for soft power-down under
	    Windows NT 4.0.

Enhancements/Fixes:
 - This version of CPQSPM.SYS was modified to add support for the NT 4.0 APIC as well 
   as PIC images
 - Removed all references to SCSI, including both SCSI files in data.z.


HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive.
The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename 
based on the SoftPaq Number above.

2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions. 
Enter "C" to confirm the unpacking of files into the download directory.

3. After the files have been unpacked, you may delete the self-extracting file 
downloaded in step 1.

4. The application may be installed directly from the files on the 
download directory.  To install, run SETUP.EXE.
For example select Start, Run, then enter:
 
   <path>\setup

   where <path> is the drive and directory from step 2


5. After the installation is completed, you may delete the files unpacked in step 2.
