DESCRIPTION:  The Compaq SMART-2 Array Controllers ECI driver is a 
new, performance-enhanced driver that can be used with both EISA and PCI 
models of Compaq SMART-2 Array Controllers.  It can be used to replace 
the Compaq Drive Array driver in systems that have only Compaq SMART-2 
Controllers installed.  It is important to read the README.TXT file on 
the created diskette for supported and unsupported features before 
installing the driver.
NOTE:  A beta version of this driver was used in the Compaq ProLiant 
5000 server described in the "TPC Benchmark C Full Disclosure Report for 
ProLiant 5000 6/166 Model 2 using Microsoft SQL Server v.6.5 and 
Microsoft Windows NT v.4.0" which was published May, 1996 by Compaq 
Computer Corporation.

HOW TO USE:

1.  Obtain a formatted 1.44 MB diskette (other types of media cannot be 
substituted).

2.  Download the SoftPaq to an empty directory on your hard drive and 
change to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is SP1529.EXE.

3.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:
SP1529 [ENTER]
You will be prompted to insert the formatted 1.44 MB diskette. 

4.  After the diskette is created, you may delete the downloaded file 
SP1529.EXE if you wish.

5. For installation instructions, read the README.TXT file in the root 
directory of the created diskette.
