DESCRIPTION:    This creates a firmware upgrade diskette that allows a user to upgrade the System ROM on any of the above-mentioned Deskpro or ProLinea models to a 07 December 1995 System ROM.  This ROM will correctly configure the Intel Pro/100 PCI board in the unit.   This ROM also provides a workaround for network interfaces that use the TI PCI chipset.

HOW TO USE:

1.  Obtain a formatted 1.44 MB diskette.

2.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is SP1517.EXE.

3.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:
    SP1517 [ENTER] 
You will be prompted to place the formatted 1.44 MB diskette into a diskette drive to create the diskette.

4.  After the diskette is created, you may delete the downloaded file SP1517.EXE if you wish.

5.  Power down the desktop machine.

6.  Place the newly created Compaq Deskpro/Compaq Prolinea ROMPaq Diskette in Drive A:, power up the computer, and follow on-screen instructions to upgrade the system ROM.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT TURN OFF POWER TO THE SYSTEM WHILE PERFORMING THIS PROCEDURE!
