DESCRIPTION:   This utility will temporarily disable the Enhanced Parallel Port (EPP) capability of the Compaq Deskpro and ProLinea families of computers.  Microsoft recommends disabling the EPP as part of their solution to a printing issue experienced under MS Windows 95.  Refer to the SP1516.DOC file contained in the Softpaq for installation instructions.

HOW TO USE

1.  Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is SP1516.EXE.

2.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:
     SP1516  [ENTER]
     The following files should be created:
     PARALLEL.EXE
     SP1516.DOC

3.  After the files are created, you may delete the downloaded file SP1516.EXE if you wish.

4.  To install, copy PARALLEL.EXE to the C:\WINDOWS\ directory and then add the following line to the AUTOEXEC.BAT file:
     C:\WINDOWS\PARALLEL.EXE
Save the file and exit.  

5.  Restart Windows 95.

6.  To re-establish EPP support if necessary, remove the line from the AUTOEXEC.BAT and restart Windows 95.
