DESCRIPTION:  Contains a utility to update the System BIOS for 
Compaq Notebook 100 Series computers only. 

Enhancements/Fixes:
 - Resolves the issue where some PS/2 mice are not recognized at power on.

 - Changes the power-on message displayed when the CMOS content is not correct 
   from "Press F1 to continue" to 
        "Press F10 to setup System Configuration or F1 to ignore".

 - Resolves a Standby/Resume issue.

 - Resolves the occasional system lock-up at the Compaq logo screen during 
   power-up by eliminating the EDO DRAM detection code, which is not needed 
   in these computers that use only SDRAM.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive.
The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename 
based on the SoftPaq Number above.

2. Obtain a blank formatted floppy diskette and put the diskette into
drive A:. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions. 
 
3. Enter "Y" to confirm the unpacking of files and create a bootable 
floppy diskette.

4. Installation instructions: 
  a. Connect the unit to AC power.
  b. Place the diskette in drive A.
  c. Boot the notebook from the diskette and follow the instructions.
     IMPORTANT: Do not interrupt power.
  d. When prompted, remove the diskette and restart the notebook.
