DESCRIPTION: Contains a Compaq NetFlex-3 Adapter Driver update for
SCO UnixWare 7.1.1a.
Enhancements/Fixes:
- Resolves the issue where the adapter did not work when a cable was
disconnected and reconnected. Modified link detection code in driver.
HOW TO USE:
1. This machine must be a Windows or DOS based OS for steps 1 - 4.
Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change
to that directory. The file that is downloaded is an self-extracting
executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.
2. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file
and follow the on-screen instructions. Enter "Y" to confirm
the unpacking of files into the downloaded directory.
3. After the files have been unpacked, you may delete the
SoftPaq file downloaded in step 1.
4. There will be a QRST5.EXE file in the directory. Execute QRST5.EXE
and follow the directions to make a diskette to be used for adding
the package to the server. The diskette must be a DOS formated
disk.
5. Log into the server where the driver is going to be replaced as "root".
6. Use "netcfg" to remove any existing instances of the Netelligent
NetFlex-3 adapter.
7. Remove any existing package that exist by typing in "pkgrm ptfcnet" at
a unix prompt.
8. Use the "pkgadd -d diskette1" command on the server to perform the
installation using the diskette that was created.
9. Use "netcfg" to add in and configure your network adapters.
10. After the update or installation is complete, link the kernel and restart
the server.
NOTE: Refer to the unix manual or man pages for information on "netcfg",
"pkgrm", and/or "pkgadd".
