DESCRIPTION:  Compaq Power Management Extensions provide support for SCSI
            power management and soft power-down under Windows NT 4.0. 
            These extensions provide support for power conservation
            features, such as the hard drive spinning down when it is not
            being used. 

Enhancements/Fixes:
 - This version of CPQSPM.SYS was modified to change the way in which allocated
   memory is reported to test programs. 
 - Removed incorrect references to Windows NT 3.51 and Windows 95/98.


HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive.
The file downloaded is a self-extracting executable with a filename 
based on the SoftPaq Number above.

2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions. 
Enter "C" to confirm the unpacking of files into the download directory.

3. After the files have been unpacked, you may delete the self-extracting file 
downloaded in step 1.

4. The application may be installed directly from the files on the 
download directory.  To install, run SETUP.EXE.
For example select Start, Run, then enter:
 
   <path>\setup

   where <path> is the drive and directory from step 2


5. After the installation is completed, you may delete the files unpacked in step 2.
