DESCRIPTION:
This softpaq applies to Compaq Servers which ship with Teac
Slim-line CD-ROM drives (CD-224E). Softpaq does not apply to
Lucky Goldstar slim-line CD-ROM drives as they do not exhibit
the problem.

NOTE: To identify a Teac (slim-line) CD-ROM without removal,
the eject button is located to the left of center and
the Light Emitting Diode (LED) is located on the right.
The eject button and the LED are approximately one
inch apart. If the top of the drive is visible, the
white P/N label will list the model as CD-224E.

This Softpaq contains a firmware Df90c.bin file, the firmware flash utility Flashe3.exe along with Readme.txt for installation instructions.

Enhancements/Fixes:
This firmware update addresses a readability issue on Teac CD-ROM drives which may cause the CD-ROM drive not to respond or hang during software or operating system installations.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change
to that directory. The file that is downloaded is a self-extracting
executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.

2. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file
and follow the on-screen instructions to unpack the files.
The number of files to be created and total file size is displayed.
The target directory for the files will default to the download directory.

3. After the files have been created, you may delete the
self-extracting file downloaded in step 1.

4. For problem details and Firmware Upgrade installation instructions refer
to README.TXT (readme.txt is found under the \release directory)
