Compaq Management Agents for Server, SCO OpenServer 5, Ver 4.90a

 

ENHANCEMENTS/FIXES:

    

  Compaq Foundation Agents:

    1. Added support for SCO OpenServer 5.0.6.

    2. Added support for Gigahertz processor speeds in the Web Agent.

    3. Fixed a problem where system location information gets corrupt

       due to Web Agent.

    4. Fixed a problem in the Web Agent where the Network Management

       Uptime on the Web Browser was not displayed correctly.



  Compaq Server Agents:

    1. Added support for SCO OpenServer 5.0.6.

    2. Added support for the Compaq ProLiant ML350.

    3. Added support for USB.

    4. Added support for Gigahertz processor speeds.

    5. Fixed a problem where cache level was not displayed correctly on some

       ProLiant Servers.

    6. Fixed a problem where hot plug information about Power Supply were not

       displayed properly on the Web Browser.

    7. Fixed a problem where diskette boot control under security feature was

       not updated correctly.

    8. Fix for the CPU Utilization running upto 100% due to health Agents.



  Compaq Storage Agents:

    1. Added support for SCO OpenServer 5.0.6.

    2. Added support for Compaq Wide Ultra3 SCSI Adapter.

    3. Fix a problem where IDA Agent sends storage system status change trap

       for storage system fan during startup, when there are no fans.

    4. Added support for a new SCSI Physical drive status change trap.

    5. Fixed a problem where storage box thermal condition does not

       bubble up to controller status.

 

  Compaq NIC Agents:

    1. Added support for SCO OpenServer 5.0.6.

    2. Fixed an inconsistent problem where the interface number filled in by 

       MIB-2 and NIC Agents do not match, and the interface details are not 

       being displayed.

  

HOW TO USE:



1.  On a non-Unix computer, download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard 

drive and change to that directory.  The file that is downloaded is a 

self-extracting executable with a filename based on the SoftPaq Number above.



2.  From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file 

and follow the on-screen instructions to unpack the files.

The number of files to be created and total file size is displayed.

You will be given the chance to specify the target directory for 

the files, or default to the download directory.

The following files will be extracted,

        SP14305._03

        SP14305._04

        SP14305._05

        SP14305.TXT

        QRST5.EXE



3.  After the files have been created, you may delete the  

self-extracting file downloaded in step 1.



4. Run Qrst5 to create 5 Unix-formatted diskettes that contain custom 

installable images of the Compaq Management Agents for SCO OpenServer 5.

Diskette 1 of 5 and Diskette 2 of 5  contain

         the Compaq Foundation Agents for SCO OpenServer 5.

Diskette 3 of 5 contains the Compaq Server Agents for SCO OpenServer 5.

Diskette 4 of 5 contains the Compaq Storage Agents for SCO OpenServer 5.

Diskette 5 of 5 contains the Compaq NIC Agents for SCO OpenServer 5.

   

5. Login as 'root' on the SCO OpenServer 5 server.



6. Run 'custom'.



7. Perform steps 8 to 10 for all the 5 diskettes.

   The order of installation of the images is - 



   a) Diskette 1 of 5 and Diskette 2 of 5 which contain

     the Compaq Foundation Agents for SCO OpenServer 5

   b) Diskette 3 of 5, the Compaq Server Agents for SCO OpenServer 5

   c) Diskette 4 of 5, the Compaq Storage Agents for SCO OpenServer 5

   d) Diskette 5 of 5, the Compaq NIC Agents for SCO OpenServer 5



8. Select installation from "Floppy Drive 0".



9. Follow the directions on the screen.



10. Remove the diskette.



11. Restart the server to complete the installation.
