DESCRIPTION: This SoftPaq provides a patch utility for the Compaq DeskPro EN 820
that fixes a problem with the original software image. The problem causes the
computer to lock up during the unbundling of the original software image when the
system is first set up.

HOW TO USE:

1. Download the Softpaq SP14140 to the hard drive of an operational computer and
execute SP14140.EXE to create a fix diskette.

2. On the DeskPro EN 820 experiencing the problem, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE twice to
    restart the computer.

3. As the computer restarts, press the function key F8 to go to Windows 98 Safe Mode.

4. Insert the fix diskette in the diskette drive and run SETUP.EXE from the diskette.

5. Click Yes to restart the computer. It will come up with a blank screen.

6. Manually turn the computer off, wait at least 15 seconds, and then turn it back on.

7. The DeskPro EN 820 will then successfully complete the software unbundling process.
