Softpaq Solution: SP1353
File Name: KBDBR.KBD
Title: Windows 95 Driver for Brazilian Portuguese Keyboard
Version: N/A

CATEGORY: Drivers/Miscellaneous

EFFECTIVE DATE: 10 December 1995

PRODUCTS AFFECTED: All Compaq commercial ProLinea and Deskpro computers manufactured before December 7, 1995 and using a Brazilian Portuguese keyboard with English Windows 95

OPERATING SYSTEM: Windows 95

SYSTEM CONFIGURATION: Windows 95

SUPERSEDES: N/A

DESCRIPTION: Compaq has determined that the Brazilian Portuguese keyboard may not function properly on Compaq commercial desktop units that have English versions of Microsoft Windows 95. Specifically, the "?/"key does not function properly. This Softpaq creates a diskette containing a new keyboard driver that corrects the problem.

HOW TO USE

1. Obtain a formatted 1.44-MB diskette.

2. Download the SoftPaq to a directory on your hard drive and change to that directory. The file that is downloaded is SP1353.EXE.

3. From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file by entering SP1353 from a DOS prompt, or double clicking on the SP1353 icon in the Windows 95 folder for that directory. You will be prompted to place the formatted 1.44-MB diskette into a diskette drive to create the keyboard driver diskette. The diskette will contain the following files:
   README.TXT
   KDBDR.KBD
   SP1353.DOC

4. After the diskette is created, you may delete the downloaded file SP1353.EXE if you wish.

5. To install the new keyboard driver, refer to README.TXT on the diskette.
