DESCRIPTION:
System Software Manager (SSM) is a utility that supports unattended 
upgrade/installation of drivers, system agents, and system ROM on multiple PCs 
simultaneously from a centralized file store without implementing a software 
distribution infrastructure.

ENHANCEMENTS/FIXES:
- Provides capability to establish initial setup password.
- Provides Replicated Setup feature that enables a BIOS setting template to be 
  distributed to multiple Compaq Client Systems in the enterprise.
- Added an option to allow modem connected users to cancel before SSM starts 
  installing software.
- Modified the update log to put the most current pass at the beginning of the 
  log.  This allows administrators to determine last update status without 
  scrolling through the entire log.
- Added a report only mode so administrators can determine what changes would   
  occur if SSM were executed on a given set of clients with a specific 
  filestore.
- Improved database build function to extract CVA's from SoftPaqs only if they 
  are not already present in the filestore.  This allows support for 
  downloading updated CVA's from the Compaq Software Support CD or the Compaq 
  Web Site that are external to the SoftPaq.
- Fixes ROM flash problem on iPaq (686J5 ROM family) and Deskpro EN (686P2, 686P3 
  ROM family) systems.
- Supports SoftPaqs created with version 5.0 of the SoftPaq tool.
