DESCRIPTION:  This maintenance release version 1.23 provides display driver support under the OS/2 2.1x and 3.0 operating system for the Compaq/CL5434 Graphics Controller used with the Deskpro and ProLinea models listed above.  Not all of the Compaq monitors and resolutions are available with the Cirrus driver set. Compaq is currently involved in an effort with IBM to have this information included                       in the next OS/2 revision. The issue of OS/2 Freelance v2.0 causing a system lock up during a slide show presentation has been addressed in this release.

HOW TO USE:  

1.  After downloading the SoftPaq, copy it to an empty directory on your hard drive and change to that directory.  If downloaded in zipped format (.ZIP), unzip the file to create an executable:  PKUNZIP SP1319

2.  From that drive and directory, execute the SoftPaq file:  SP1319 [ENTER]
The following files should be created: 
CLOS2A1._01
SP1319.DOC
QRST5.EXE

3. Create the disk image by running QRST5.EXE. You will be prompted to place a formatted 1.44 MB diskette into a diskette drive to create the diskette.

4. After the diskette is created, you may delete the downloaded file SP1319.EXE and other created files from your hard drive if you wish.

5. Please read all READMEs before installing this new driver. Please note that during the execution of the DSPINSTL file the following Cirrus drivers should be selected under the `Primary Display Driver List'  dialog box:  
Cirrus Logic 5426, 5428, 5430, 5434 (IBM BBS)
Messages will also appear prompting you to overwrite newer existing files.  Please select "NO" to these messages.

6.  In order to better configure your system, Cirrus Logic provides a CLMODE utility that allows the refresh rates to be changed.  CLMODE is contained in Softpaq SP1316.  First install the Cirrus OS/2 driver using this Softpaq (SP1319), then install the CLMODE utility from SP1316 at a DOS prompt.  During the install select the option "Cirrus Logic 543X Utilities".
